Hatha: "The yoga of living strength" or the sacred union of yin and yang.

The term Yoga Hatha comes from Sanskrit, an ancient and sacred Indian language. It could be translated as “yoga of living strength”, or “yoga of tenacity”. Hatha thus represents the sacred union between sun and moon, yin and yang. The method originated in India around the 12th century. Hatha is thus the traditional yoga par excellence. The development of Yoga Hatha is the result of extensive research into the body, energies and breathing. By combining these three characteristics, the principles of Hatha yoga were born.
